Qualter Hall is pleased to announce that it has recently achieved registration to the Occupational Health and Safety Management System OHSAS 18001: 2007, with the British Standards Institution.
The prestigious OHSAS 18001 accreditation recognises that the company is fully managing its responsibilities to the health, safety and welfare of all our employees, other stakeholders and the general public, both in the short and long term and that we have documented operational procedures to achieve this. It demonstrates that we are committed to the highest standards of health, safety and welfare principles which everyone in the company is required to embrace.
Over the years Qualter Hall has displayed sound health, safety and welfare management, not only by compliance with legislation but also by utilising best practice and the setting of targets and objectives to improve our health, safety and welfare performance. However, we decided to take this a step further by reviewing our practices and creating a plan to manage these effectively, resulting in a detailed documented Occupational Health and Safety Management System which fully complies with OHSAS 18001 both in action and word.
OHSAS 18001 is the International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Obtaining OHSAS 18001 accreditation demonstrates the elimination or minimisation and control of health and safety risks, reduction in the potential for accidents, compliance with legislation and improved operational performance. The system at Qualter Hall encompasses the whole company, with its differing functions and wide variety of complex facilities and equipment.
