Qualter Hall is an environmentally conscious Company and as such we acknowledge the potential environmetal impact that our operations may have on the environment.  Our activities include:

The design, supply, manufacture, assembly, installation, commissioning, repair and refurbishment of equipment for use in the mining, tunnelling, power generating, water, rail, transportation, nuclear, food processing, steel construction and allied industries, and their associated business administrations.

The directors, management and supervisory staff have responsibilities for the implementation of the policy and must ensure that environmental issues are given adequate consideration in the planning and day-to-day supervision of all work.  Qualter Hall top management will ensure that all their activities are carried out in conformance with the relevant environmental legislation, industry best practice, and implement and maintain an environmental management system that is in compliance with ISO 14001: 2015 to protect the environment.

Top management will ensure and are committed to continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) to enhance environmental performance and the EMS effectiveness.  This is facilitated through ensuring sufficient resources are available and the setting of documented environmental objectives based on our significant environmental aspects, compliance obligations and considering our risks and business processes and ensuring we meet the intended outcomes.

Top management will demonstrate leadership and commitment by:

  • Ensuring we comply with all compliance obligations, and strive to integrate the EMS into all business practices.
  • Minimising the consumption of natural resources and energy, whilst consuming material goods in moderation.
  • Reducing the amount of waste to landfill by reducing our waste generation and by segregating and recycling waste where economically and operationally feasible.
  • Preventing pollution and ensuring that, wherever practical, measures are implemented to protect and preserve natural habitats, flora and fauna.
  • Wherever possible, investing in the development of new products and processes that have an improved performance regarding their impact on the environment.
  • Ensuring all employees are aware of this policy and the EMS and its requirements, and are trained and provided with sufficient resources to implement it to the best of their ability.
  • We aim to foster among our staff, suppliers, customers, shareholders and communities local to our operations an understanding of environmental issues in the context of our business. Our collective task is to ensure that we continually improve the environmental impact of our activities.

This policy will be communicated to all employees and organisations working on our behalf.  Employees and other organisations are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk to themselves, others or the environment.  This policy will be reviewed annually senior management, and where deemed necessary will be amended and re-issued.
