Qualter Hall & Company Ltd is a health & safety conscious Company and as such commit to reduce the potential impact that our operations may have on the health & safety of our employees, stakeholders, visitors and public.

Our activities include:

The design, supply, manufacture, assembly, installation, commissioning, repair and refurbishment of equipment for use in the mining, tunnelling, power generating, water, rail, transportation, nuclear, food processing, steel construction and allied industries, and their associated business administrations.

The directors, management and supervisory staff have responsibilities for the implementation of the policy and must ensure that health and safety issues are given adequate consideration in the planning and day-to-day supervision of all work.  Qualter Hall Top Management will ensure that all its activities are carried out in conformance with the relevant health & safety legislation, industry best practice and implement and maintain an Occupational Health & Safety Management System that is in compliance with ISO 45001: 2018.

Top Management will ensure and are committed to continual improvement of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) to enhance health & safety performance and the OHSMS effectiveness.  This is facilitated through ensuring sufficient resources are available and the setting of documented health & safety objectives based on significant health & safety impacts, compliance obligations and considering our risks and business processes and ensuring we meet the intended outcomes.

Top Management will demonstrate leadership and commitment by:-

  • Ensuring we comply with all compliance obligations, and strive to integrate the OHSMS into all business practices.
  • Accepting all injuries can be prevented, and prevention of personal injury and ill-health is good business by eliminating hazards and reducing health & safety risks.
  • Ensuring sufficient resources are available to establish, implement, maintain and improve the OH&S management system.
  • For participation and consultation provide access to understandable and relevant information on the OH&S management system and remove or minimise any obstacles or barriers to consultation and participation.
  • Wherever possible, investing in the development of new products and processes that have an improved performance regarding their impact on health & safety.
  • Ensuring all operating exposures can be safeguarded and carry out any relevant risk assessments to highlight any safety precautions that need to be implemented, including employee health monitoring.
  • Training employees to work safely and contribute to safety improvements and improvement of the OHSMS is a condition of employment.
  • Ensuring all employees are aware of this policy and and the OHSMS and its requirements, and are trained and provided with sufficient resources to implement it to the best of their ability.
  • We aim to foster among our staff, suppliers, customers and stakeholders pertaining to our operations an understanding of health & safety risks in the context of our business.  Our collective task is to ensure that we continually aim to reduce the risks from our activities.

This policy will be communicated to all employees and organisations working on our behalf.  Employees and other organisations are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk to themselves or others.
