Qualter Hall is an environmentally conscious Company and acknowledge the potential impact that we may have on the environment and commit to promoting sustainability.

We aim to deliver sustainable, profitable growth whilst satisfying our ethical, legal and contractual obligations and will ensure that all our activities are carried out in conformance with the relevant environmental legislation, industry best practice, and implement and include sustainability requirements within our environmental management system that is in compliance with ISO 14001: 2015.

Guiding Principles:

  • To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
  • To integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions.
  • Reduce the impacts of climate change through life cycle analysis, design and offering solutions with environmental added value.
  • To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our Sustainability Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.
  • To minimise the impact on sustainability of all office and transportation activities.
  • To make clients and suppliers aware of our Sustainability Policy, and encourage them to adopt sound sustainable management practices.
  • Continually strive to improve our sustainability performance.

Practical Steps:

  • Recycle as much waste material as possible, and identifying opportunities to reduce waste.
  • Minimise the use of paper wherever possible.  For example, sending invoices and quotes via email as PDF files, or by double-siding the paper used.
  • Reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment, and recycle equipment that is no longer of use to the Company.
  • Use low energy light bulbs where possible and ensure that computers are shut down after work.
  • Purchase products made with recycled constituents.  For example, paper towels, printer paper, solvents, cardboard, greases etc.
  • Purchase products with a lower environmental impact where possible.  For example environmentally safe oil, grease, soaps and detergents.
  • Use low impact transport for travel to and from work and travel for business.  Reduce the need for our staff to travel by supporting alternative working arrangements, including home working.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel by making use of instant messaging, video and audio conferencing, telephone and email.
  • Undertake work with the local community and/or environmental organisations.
  • Ensure that we take account of sustainability issues in our advice to clients.

Employees and other organisations are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy.  This policy will be reviewed on an annual basis and as and when necessary to reflect changes in relevant legislation.
