Jembatan Emas Bridge
Jembatan Emas Bridge is a Landmark of Pangkalpinang in Indonesia.
The site for this bascule bridge is in the island province of Bangka Belitung. It forms the middle section of a larger structure carrying a four-lane carriageway across a total span of 784.5m.
Qualter Hall were awarded the contract for this 99.5m long by 23.2m wide, two leaf Bascule Bridge in partnership with Waagner-Biro Indonesia.
Qualter Hall’s scope included the design, manufacture, supply, supervision of installation and commissioning of all the hydraulic equipment necessary for operation of the bridge, including the cylinders, power packs, pipework and ancillary items, along with all electrical control equipment necessary for operation of the bridge. Waagner-Biro Indonesia provided the bridge superstructure.
When raised, the Bascule Bridge allows large ships to pass through.
Also known as the “Baturusa 2 Bridge” or “Golden Bridge” (“Jembatan Emas” in Indonesian), this bascule bridge links Port Pangkalan Balam and Sungai Liat and is a major tourist landmark in the area, providing vital infrastructure support for commercial development within the region.
